TL;DR
Warframe Hotfix 44.1.1 changes The Icebind’s voting flow, removes Cryo Core throwing, and fixes a long list of mission, Riven Splicing, and script issues. It also adjusts some visual effects and several edge cases that could disrupt mission progress or rewards.
What Changed
- The Icebind voting timer no longer starts immediately after all players select a Cryobell. The host can now start it, and it will also begin automatically if 3 players have voted.
- The ability to throw the Cryo Core was removed because it could cause function loss.
- The damaging zone around the Entropy Orb received VFX tweaks.
- Several The Icebind mission issues were fixed, including:
- Orokin Vaults spawning in The Icebind missions
- mission progression stopping if a squad member left after a Side Objective started
- enemy spawning issues after mission completion requirements were met
- Indomitable Ice collision lingering after it disappears
- players getting stuck when the side objective spawns in
- invulnerability edge cases negating Cryo Core health damage
- only Arson Eximus spawning when the Inferno Mission Bind was active
- duplicate Warframes being equipped during the mission countdown
- incorrect voice line attribution and data pad context action naming in the Glacial Laboratory
- squadmates interacting with Log Data Pads before unlocking them
- falling through the map into the Glacial Laboratory by using /unstuck
- item priority sorting not applying to The Icebind rewards on the end-of-mission screen
- random Cryobell selection causing different squadmates to see different choices
- the Cryobell key’s red border persisting after equipping and unequipping a duplicate Warframe
- Riven Splicing received updates and fixes:
- players can now hover over Rivens with no compatible traits to see their traits
- Weak Point Damage Spliced Traits now apply bonus damage
- Rivens with a Spliced Trait no longer incorrectly double the Kuva cost when cycled
- the selected Riven now stays selected when entering the Riven Splicing menu
- spliced traits no longer get cut off when swapping between Splicing and Fusion menus
- Other fixes include:
- preventing 6-player squads in non-Icebind missions
- Security Bypass pathing not always choosing the closest Terminal
- Banshee becoming permanently invulnerable due to Gaseous Quake
- The Icebind and Archimedea modifiers only applying to the Primary Son when using Sirius & Orion
- Sirius & Orion falling through the map on revive
- the Amir Gemini Skin appearing overly green
- the Cryobell Sumdali being too bright in the Drifter Camp
- a crash related to the No Pets modifier in Archimedea missions
- being unable to skip The Hex kissing cutscenes
- Multiple script errors tied to The Icebind and related systems were also fixed.
Player Impact
The biggest gameplay impact is in The Icebind itself: the voting flow is now more deliberate, which should give squads time to coordinate before starting the timer. Removing Cryo Core throwing also changes how that object can be handled, but the note only confirms that the change was made to prevent function loss.
For mission flow, the fixes target several failure points that could block progress, disrupt side objectives, or create inconsistent squad behavior. That should make The Icebind more reliable in practice, especially around side objectives, enemy spawns, and reward handling.
Riven Splicing players should notice clearer trait visibility and corrected behavior for Weak Point Damage Spliced Traits and Kuva costs. The hotfix also addresses selection and menu display issues that could make the system harder to use.
The remaining fixes are mostly stability, consistency, and presentation improvements, including mission crashes, script errors, and a few visual or interaction bugs.
