TL;DR
Warframe’s Update 12: Zephyr Rises added Zephyr, a new Interception mode on Earth, new weapons, and several Warframe and weapon balance changes. It also reworked trading, improved mod management, and made a number of fixes across missions, UI, and gameplay systems.
What Changed
- Added Zephyr, described as an aeronautical Warframe, with an alternate helmet.
- Added a new Interception territory control mode on Earth, replacing Mobile Defense there.
- Expanded Earth with a level expansion in the overgrown forests.
- Added new weapons: Phage, Jat Kittag, Akstiletto, and Dual Cestras.
- Added new Clan Dojo content, including a room for building Warframes in the Tenno Research Lab and a new garden room with decorations.
- Added HUD 2.0, 3D character portraits for transmissions, improved mod management, Steam Big Picture support, and a Daybreak colour picker for the Market.
- Reintroduced Natural Talent and Dead Eye through mission and alert content.
- Changed several Warframes:
- Saryn’s Moult now causes radial damage when destroyed.
- Valkyr gained 600 base armor, and Hysteria now takes weapon damage and crit into consideration.
- Frost received changes to Freeze, Avalanche, Snowglobe, and Ice Wave.
- Oberon’s Regeneration projectile speed was increased.
- Nyx’s Psychic Bolts sound was improved.
- Changed several weapons and weapon classes:
- Bow weapons received a damage buff and charged arrows gained innate puncture depth.

- Hammer and Staff weapons now ragdoll enemies on charged attacks.
- Updated aura and resistance mods, including Physique, Steel Charge, Rejuvenation, Sprint Boost, and damage resistance mods.
- Made Void Defense endless and adjusted trading so offers can be changed until both players accept.
- Added multiple fixes for collisions, trading, UI, animations, crashes, mission behavior, and other gameplay issues.
Player Impact
Players gained a new Warframe, a new Earth mission type, and several new weapons to unlock or research. The update also changed how some existing Warframes and weapons perform, especially Frost, Valkyr, Saryn, bows, and several named firearms and melee weapons.
The trading system became more flexible because offers are no longer mostly turn-based, and both players must accept the current trade before it completes. Mod management also became easier with duplicate stacking and auto-install support.
Several mission and UI changes affect moment-to-moment play, including the removal of Mobile Defense from Earth, endless Void Defense missions, and the new HUD and transmission presentation. The patch also includes many fixes that improve stability, collision behavior, and mission reliability.
